Frontgo
Coordinated ELO's dedicated engineering pod for Frontgo (Frontpayment's engineering arm) in Norway. The project itself was owned and driven by the client's dedicated project manager; Fauzul's role was to keep the three-engineer pod aligned — setting engineering practices, advising on the Vipps and financing integrations, unblocking communication and requirement gaps, leading hiring/HR, and running the weekly and monthly syncs — through to a clean handover to the in-house team.
The Opportunity
Frontpayment needed to rapidly scale its core financing system and integrate Norway's dominant payment network, Vipps, to establish product-market fit. Rather than hiring immediately in a high-cost market, they partnered with ELO to deploy a dedicated engineering pod that could act with high autonomy and velocity.
The project was owned and driven by Frontgo's own dedicated project manager on the Norway side. Fauzul coordinated the pod — one lead backend engineer and two fullstack engineers — on the engineering side, leading the hiring and HR for the team and keeping delivery aligned with the client's roadmap under strict NDA constraints.
Coordinated Execution & Handover
Building a secure financing system requires rigorous alignment between the engineering pod and business stakeholders. Working alongside the client's project manager, Fauzul ran the weekly and monthly syncs, solved communication and requirement problems before they reached the codebase, and translated evolving company goals into concrete engineering work.
The team successfully integrated Vipps and built the foundational financing architecture. After a year of rapid scaling and establishing product-market fit, the pod handed over the entire codebase and infrastructure to Frontgo's incoming in-house engineering team.
- Engineering Practices & Integration Guidance. Set the pod's engineering standards and advised on the Vipps and financing integrations to keep delivery clean and maintainable.
- Hiring & HR. Led recruitment and people management for the three-engineer pod, building a high-retention team optimized for low-overhead velocity.
- Weekly & Monthly Alignment. Ran the recurring sync and alignment cadence with the client's project manager, unblocking communication and requirement gaps.
- Manager-to-Manager Communication. Served as the engineering-side liaison to the client's PM and executive team, ensuring tight product-engineering alignment.
High-calibre architecture decisions.
Technical Highlights
- Coordinated a dedicated 3-engineer remote pod (1 backend, 2 fullstacks); led its hiring and HR.
- Advised on Vipps API integration for seamless mobile checkout flows in Norway.
- Guided engineering practices for backend modules behind a multi-tenant financing ledger system.
- Ran weekly and monthly sync and alignment with the client project manager.
Key Decisions & Rationale
Frontgo's own project manager owned the roadmap while ELO coordinated the engineering pod, letting the client bypass recruitment bottlenecks and run a pre-aligned team at speed.
Maintained tight alignment on evolving compliance and product requirements, minimizing sprint drift and backlog debt.
By the numbers.
If we worked together.
I bring high-leverage product engineering and absolute operational discipline: shipping weekly, pressure-testing user inputs, and automating delivery pipelines.
