Every story has a starting line. For my French learning journey, it was the summer of 2018 when France lifted the FIFA World Cup. The sheer energy, culture, and national pride resonated with me, laying down the initial spark: I wanted to understand this culture in its own language.
Interest is cheap, but consistency is expensive. In 2023, I made a commitment to turn that initial spark into a daily, non-negotiable ritual. I realized that as an engineer building SaaS solutions for international clients and working towards European expansion, speaking native languages isn't a bonus—it's empathy.
Today, that commitment has materialized into an unbroken 901+ day consecutive streak paired with a B1 CEFR level proficiency. I practice every single day, proving that small, continuous iterations yield compounding results over years.
